چکیده

Ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), commonly used to encapsulate photovoltaic (PV) modules, deteriorates on prolonged exposure sunlight. In this work, fresh and deteriorated EVA samples prepared by UV irradiation (500 W m−2) over different periods (0–168 h) are characterized conventional elemental analysis, microscopic observations, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, thermogravimetry. To the best of our knowledge, is first work employ pyrolysis-gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (Py-GC/MS) micro-UV combined Py-GC/MS (UV/Py-GC/MS) investigate deterioration behavior EVA, using in-situ identification gases liberated during irradiation, such as H2O, CO2, ketones, acetic acid, lactones. addition, thermal stability aging confirmed evolved gas analysis-mass (EGA-MS). UV/Py-GC/MS revealed that acetaldehyde, acetone, γ-butyrolactone, succinic anhydride, cyclobutanone produced irradiation. identified cyclopentanone, citraconic γ-valerolactone, from samples, which suggested presence ketone lactone structures in EVA. This establishes usage a promising method greater detail. These findings may contribute superior understanding breakdown PV modules lead development UV-resistant encapsulating materials.

Enhanced Controlled Transdermal Delivery of Mexazolam Using Ethylene-vinyl Acetate

Repeated oral administration of mexazolam, an anti-anxiety agent, may cause adverse effects such as gastric disturbance, drowsiness, and ataxia due to transiently high blood levels. Transdermal administration would avoid the systemic side effects and gastric disorders after oral administration. We have developed a matrix using ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), a heat-processible and flexible mat...

Miniemulsion Copolymerization of Ethylene and Vinyl Acetate

The copolymerizations of a gaseous monomer (ethylene) and a liquid monomer (vinyl acetate) via emulsion and miniemulsion polymerizations are reported. Reactions in which the vinyl acetate was introduced in both batch and semibatch modes are carried out. (Ethylene introduction is always in a semibatch model since the polymerization is carried out under a constant pressure of ethylene in the reac...

Mechanical behavior of ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) used for fabrication of mouthguards and interocclusal splints.

In the present investigation, an experimental dental arch model fabricated in epoxy was assayed in Kratos universal testing machine to study the mechanical behavior of ethylene and vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) in the form of mouthguard for sports and flat plate. The following variables were considered: thickness (3 and 4-mm plates), temperature (room and mouth temperature) and presence/absence...

Non-isothermal crystallization and melting of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymers with different vinyl acetate contents

Non-isothermal crystallization and subsequent melting of three grades of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) technique. The DSC crystallization curves show that vinyl acetate (VAc) content has the same effect on the onset, peak and final crystallization temperatures, and these copolymers have almost the same spacing of thermal windows un...
